Flotec signs Railway Mental Health Charter.
Loughborough-based Flotec, a trusted and leading supplier of reliable hose and engineering solutions to the rail market, has proudly signed the Railway Mental Health Charter.
Launched in 2022, the Railway Mental Health Charter (RMHC) is a collaborative initiative between Southeastern and the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB).
Conceived by Lee Woolcott-Ellis, the scheme has already welcomed more than 120 signatories, with SME Flotec being one of the latest to get onboard.
According to the RSSB website and accompanying marketing literature, the Charter is a framework to help promote, manage, and support workforce mental wellbeing.
Aligned with good practice, the charter responds to industry needs and provides targeted actions and resources for improving mental health in your company.
Speaking of signing the Railway Mental Health Charter, Flotec’s Head of Marketing, Barry Michael Aldridge said, “As an employee-owned business, Flotec has a deep-rooted commitment to ensuring that best working policies and practices are in place for the betterment of our people. Mental health is high on the agenda at Flotec where being a signatory of this scheme will help us to formalise a concrete mental health strategy.
We look forward to continuing collaboration with the Railway Mental Health Charter.”
In 2021, Flotec’s Chloe Lofthouse and Sophie Wright became St John Ambulance trained Mental Health Responders with last year witnessing Barry work towards making the organisation a Disability Confident Employer and signing the Women in Rail (WR) / Railway Industry Association (RIA) EDI Charter.
Aldridge concludes, “Flotec has an incredibly supportive culture and has made great moves towards becoming a highly ethical supplier into both the rail market and wider industries.”
