Improving the Reliability of Track Maintenance Machinery

Flotec increase the reliability of Track Maintenance Machinery by utilising the Gates MegaTuff hose. We have developed an effective engineering solution that prevents hose failures on essential performance parts.

Gates MegaTuff hoses are exceptionally resistant to abrasion. This is thanks to special cover construction and compounding that uses high-performance engineered plastics, in an innovative manufacturing process. The specially bonded cover stays put, it won’t peel, and the hose removes the need for costly hose protection.

Flotec’s preventative process involves replacing the faulty hoses and correctly routing them to increase hose route efficiency and eradicate hose abrasion issues. We identify problems which may not always be recognised before hose failure, such as:

· Installation errors such as twists and kinks

· Incorrect routing

· Hose cut over-length

· Ill-fitted equipment

· Hose or fitting impairments

· Cuts and abrasions on hoses

· Leaking hose end fittings
