In April 2025, SME railway supplier, Flotec, applied for and was granted membership to the Railway Industry Association (RIA).

Commencing trading in 1995, Flotec is a trusted and leading supplier of reliable hose, engine cooling and engineering solutions to the rolling stock and track maintenance machinery markets.
Having already been a Rail Business Daily (RBD) community member for several years, when news broke about the merger between RBD and RIA, it made prudent sense for the Loughborough-based SME supplier to engage and get onboard with the amalgamation.
The Railway Industry Association was founded in 1875 and according to its website, has played a critical role in moulding the modern rail industry across the UK.
As well as benefitting from the publicity, media exposure and marketing support that RBD has to offer, additional RIA membership perks include, over 150 events per year, including policy and lobbying, allocated business engagement managers, key market intelligence, national growth and international export opportunities, to name just a few.
Its full steam ahead for Flotec, with 2025 looking set to be yet another turbo charged year, fuelled with innovation, exciting stories and dynamic collaborations.
Ascertaining membership with an industry body steeped in heritage and history is sure to add to the ongoing adventures.
