CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF SERVICE!

Loughborough-based Flotec, a leading supplier of hydraulic, pneumatic and pipeline products to industry, recognises twenty-five years of service.


Flotec’s very own Business Development Manager, Maria Smith is celebrating a commendable twenty-five years of service with Flotec Industrial Limited.


On the 20th May 1998, Maria entered the doors of Flotec and commenced upon a journey within the realms of engineering.


Coming from an automotive and mechanical background, picking up the ‘ins and outs’ of hydraulics, pneumatics and pipeline products was a relatively easy task.


An incredibly hands-on engineer, Maria is a shining example and role model for women who have a desire to enter the manufacturing and engineering sectors.


In the very early days, it was just managing director Julian Davies with Maria brought in to manage the sales function of the business.


Over the years the company has grown to twenty plus employees where Maria has been instrumental in helping grow sales volume.


Originally required to serve local industries such as agriculture, power and general manufacturing, Maria has also been influential in helping to develop the Flotec Rail Division and recently spent three years on the Board of Directors for Derby-based Rail Forum.


Twenty-five years is an incredible achievement whereby Maria has been a critical figure in the success of Flotec.


The entire team at Flotec value Maria for her hard-working ethic, commitment, professionalism, and her kind and fun-loving personality.
